Sterilisation

Mummy brought me to the vet for my sterilisation appointment last month.

On the way to the vet.

After the operation, I was carried out by my daddy.
He appeared to be the hero in my dreams, I am going to stick to him from now onwards!
I was a bit weak and he carried me all the way to the van.
Once we reached our house, I was happily jumping around (scaring my paranoid Mummy so much)kissing my Summer zei zei.

The stitch was nicely done by Dr Heng.
But the itchy leg me went to scratch the side of the stitch and Mummy had to apply tea tree oil on the affected areas (not on the stitch) for days after that.

My Mummy put me on the e-collar and I really hate it to the core!
I can't eat properly on my food bowl and kept knocking against the wall!!!
And I can't believe it that some of her evil friends told her that I look like a cute little puppy with the e-collar on.

Maybe that's the reason I wore it for days. Humph!!!

Daddy and Mummy decided to take some action against with me.

Their tools : Gate, gate and more gates.

After I had a taste of the portable sofa, the sofa had to be dump because it was really in a bad shape. (or out of shape, or no shape)

Now our house seems to be pretty spacious and I have more place to run about also. kekekek

I think this can also save a lot of trouble for my Daddy and Mummy as now they don't need to push in and out the sofa everyday.

Daddy got a new sofa hiding in the room for a few months already and now they have the intention to bring it out.

So there I was kept away from the living room and was confined in the kitchen.
Daddy wanted to push the sofa out but was stopped by Mummy who wanted to do a test run first.
I guess Mummy either either had no faith in Plan A or she has too much faith in me.
Of course I believe it was the latter. >_<

Thus after they came back for lunch in an hour's time, there I was running around proudly in the living room, destroyed more items that was not kept away and presented a pool of pee in the middle. *proud*

After a few days, Daddy bought a new taller baby gate from IMM.
To their despair, I was out again after they went out for a while.
Daddy and Mummy couldn't fathom and suspected that I actually climbed out from the gate.

But one day, they solved the mystery!
Mummy finally flared up and she confined me in the kitchen.(what else but destroying more items lor *blush*
They saw how I jumped over the gate in a breeze and was at a loss for words.

Lastly, they decided to carry out this so called undefeatable plan.
Plan A combined forces with Plan B.
They stacked one baby gate on top of another tightly against the wall.
They were happy with this plan because it finally works ...

but only for a while.
I managed to knock down the top gate and jumped over.

Since then, there were no more plans against me.
Peace at HOME!!! kekekeke

My brother's owner sent a sms during the month of June to my Mummy asking how she is going to celebrate my first year birthday.
And my Mummy was just going "huh?"
She goes "huh" never mind and I thought she was preparing a birthday bash for me.

So when she called for me when I was pretending to be sleeping in the room, I woke up hurriedly and ran to the kitchen happily with unkempt hair with only "Food, Cake, Food, Cake" repeating itself in my mind.

First time at the WCDR

Mummy brought me to the WCDR on last Sunday!
It was my first time there and I was so excited.

Most of the time, Summer and me just rested under the bench.

Bubbles (JRT) is the first friend that I played with.
Mummy said that Bubbles is very cute and friendly.
She is a real daredevil who goes around initiating play with any dogs regardless of their size.

After a bit of warmup ... I was not that nervous and scare.

It rained very big after a few hours later.

We were still having fun despite of the rain.

Just after 2 weeks when my mummy thought that everything was ok for me, she received a call from El one night.
El. said that my new owner's mum was very angry with me for chewing up a lot of things at home.
The mum locked me in the kitchen but somehow I managed to get out and ran to the room and took out all the clothes to play around. kekekeke
Of course the mum was so angry and wanted me away.
She wanted to board me at a petshop first before finding a new home.

My mummy was so furious with that and immediately went down for me.
I was so happy seeing mummy downstairs!!!
I ran to her and cuddled around her legs with mummy hugging me.
My then new owner said sadly "She was never that happy before."
My mummy said nothing much to her and got me inside the car.
I noticed 2 familiar faces at the back of the seat.
The not very happy Pepper and SUMMERRRRRRRRR!!!
Gosh I was so happy wanting to kiss Summer but mummy was hugging me tightly on her lap in the front seat.

For the first night back home, I slept next to Summer as usual.

She was relieved when she heard that I was able to get along well with the new owner's infamous spoilt maltese.

One day my Mummy came back and tried to turn on the lights.
She thought that there was a blackout when the lights didn't work.
When she looked at the blocks around us, she realised it was more than that.

With 2 weeks of pig liver and TLC from mummy, I was able to get my first jab and doctor said my blood count was normal!

Mummy was so proud of me because I paper-trained myself without her doing anything.
I was kept in the room for around 4 or 5 days with some newspapers spread on the floor.
I already knew to do it there since day one.
Once my mummy felt that it was safe to let me to socialise with the other dogs in the family, I was let out of the room and able to find the papers by myself without my mummy's guidance. *proud proud proud*

I do wonder at times why I was known as "The white static puppy"

El named me Keira. When mummy did a search on the internet for the meaning of this name, she almost fainted.

The unknown future for me

I don't really move much around in my mummy's room.
I was always seen just lying in a corner and would start to go into hiding whenever anyone comes in.
One of the familiar faces (who used to feed me while I was still in the wild) came into the room the next day to check on me.
Heard my mummy calling her Elsie.
She said that I look so weak, not moving much and my gums were totally pale.
I was full of fleas and ticks as well.
Mummy, Daddy and Elsie took turns to take out the pests from my body.
It took them a few hours everyday and they always ended up with a backache.
Daddy also gave me a bath which I never had before.
It was brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

After a few days later, I was brought to the vet with the other puppies.
However, the others went ahead with the vaccination except for me.
I was diagnosed with low blood count which explained why I was so weak.
My red blood cell count was below the normal range.

I could sense an intense situation at that time.
Nobody was talking much in the car.
My mummy and Elsie looked a bit distressed.
I heard something like "......she might not even survive..." in a soft worried tone.
I didn't really hear much as I was too tired.
My eyes were heavy and I just slept quietly inside the carrier.

The first night at my home

All the puppies seem to have found a fosterer to be settled down.
Except for me.

I think they did not really know what to do with me.
After a long hesitation, my mummy decided to bring me back temporarily.

Saw my mummy peeping at me with a few other dogs aka my sisters.
I tried to give a little growl to scare them away but it didn't seem to work.
My mummy came back to check on me every little while.

I decided to try being friendly.
I shoot a smile at her when she whispered softly at me with "Hi baby!"

Her eyes brightened up immediately.
I could tell that she was amazed with my smile.
*light bulb turns on* hur hur hur, maybe I will get my freedom if I continue to do so.
Thus she tried again.
There I was ... smiling at her.

I saw her jumping out of the room happily.
I guessed I scored.
*aiyooo eh, humans are so easily contended, kekekeke*

The day that changed my life

On one particular evening, I had a twist of fate. (Thank god!)
The 2 familar faces brought a few people into our site.
I recognised my mummy from the group as she came in a few nights before with them.
I think she came straight after her work as she was still in her office wear.
A few of them started to peep inside the tunnels and then started to run after us.
I don't know what's got into me that day but I was pinned down by this young fellow!!!

My mummy then appeared and was busy snapping photos of me left and right.
How could she take photos while I am so frightened and confused!!! ARGHHH!

Not all of the puppies were rescued out and they seem to have a commotion between them.
Some of them were sitting on the roadside and I saw my mummy looking pale holding onto her forehead several times.

The 2 black and white puppies are said to be my sister and brother.
When they were caught, both of them were so frightened tiill they poo all over on the rescuers.
Luckily for them, they found very nice fosterers (who then turned to their mummy and daddy in the future) on the day itself.

Anyway, let's talk about me because this blog is about me me and ME!

I used to stray around a construction area with some other bigger dogs and about 20 puppies.
All of us have to learn to defend for ourselves since birth.
Be it rain or shine, the only roof over our heads are those dirty metal tunnels that we can find and squeeze in.
We gotta be careful as there are dangerous sharp metal stuff around us.
When it rains at times, the floor will be full of soil and it gets muddy thus I will just stay in my "kennel" watching the rain in darkness dozing off alongside the sound of droplets.

I used to see 2 familiar faces at night as they often climbed in and bring in some food for us.
Although I am glad for that but I would stay wary and never allowed them to get near me.
I would just sit and watched them from far until they left.
Should anyone attempted to get near me, I would dash off as fast as lightning.
That's the most basic thing that we strays have to learn.
And we also have to be extra suspicious when we see food appear out of nowhere.
Those I call it, the trap of death.

Unfortunately, some of my friends do get caught.
I would hide in the tunnel shivering while watching my perified friends struggling in vain, crying out loud at the top of their voices while the humans dumped them into a van that was parking nearby.

After the van drove off, that's the last time that I see of my friends.
Once again, it will be another peaceful day till the humans come back for us.

Hi all,

With the proliferation of dog blogs, (although my elder sister, Pepper has one few years back) My mummy decided to dedicate one to me as she said that my life is quite happening and everyday I will have some "surprise" for her.

And I did remember my mummy told my daddy that she loves surprises.
But I don't know why her face will cringe whenever she saw those that I gave her.
